Ready or Not

Got the consult in the mail and now have the appointment (on the 18th).  I'm a little nervous to go to the RE.  I don't know why.  I guess I always assumed we'd get pregnant without having to take this step, but after thinking about it ... it's better for my sanity, I hope.  I just want to eliminate some of the extra time it may take going on our own with IUI after IUI.  I'm hoping it will up our chances, so to speak.  I just don't know what to expect, so I'm a little worried, but also a lot excited and VERY ready!

  1. Found your blog through small obsessions and I am loving your blog.
I hope your RE is great and understanding and wonderful and gets you a BFP! Sending all kinds of baby dust your way!

  3. We messed around with our OB for 8 IUIs before we switched to an RE and got our BFP with our first IUI there! I truly believe in REs and their abilities. If you need anything let me know as I have been there and experenced most of it (shots, OHSS, pregnancy, surgery, birth, joy of motherhood!)

Btw, the tree in our nursery is one I hand painted to match the bedding and decor...

  5. Welcome, lipstick! So glad you found me. Thx for the well wishes, too! =)

Jen, thank you for your comment. It did help me feel a little less anxious inside. It is great to hear from those that have been through it! (And fabulous job on the tree!! I wouldn't have thought it was hand-painted.)

readytostartbabymaking and A+K ... thanks so much. I'm hoping it won't be much longer with the RE in my corner, as well.

  6. Don't be nervous! You gave it an excellent shot on your own, but maybe you just need a little help. I have medicalized this process from the beginning (for good and for ill), so if you have any questions I may be able to help... I have learned A LOT in the past 6 months!

    Good luck!

  7. Like everyone else said, don't get nervous! RE's are in the business of getting people knocked up, which is exactly what you want. Can't wait to hear all about it!

  8. N. Scissors & Nicole,

Thx! I'm getting a little more used to the idea. Sometimes things need some time to settle into my brain before I'm okay with them. lol ... And N. Scissors, I may just hold you to that! ;)

  9. Going to a RE is such a good step I think. Ours really helped bring a good plan together and help us navigate all the options. :)
