Weekly Round-Up Wednesday

Outside my window...  Currently it's dark and rainy.  I love the rain.

I am thinking...  I'm a little sad because we didn't get the house in Roseville.  They wanted someone that would sign at least a two year lease and they actually found a couple that signed on for three.  I'm sorry, but even if we had no plans to buy a home in the next year or so I still wouldn't lock myself into a lease for that length of time.  Nuts.  So perhaps it's worked out for the best.  On we go - more looking, more applying.  No stress.

I am thankful for...  Today.  Woke up, picked up the little swimmers, got right into the doctor's office and IUI we go!  Smooth as butter.  I came home and listened to my relaxation session and napped.  Took the doggies to the beach, got a little rained on, but it was actually kind of refreshing.  Had dinner at our favorite Chinese restaurant and then later had dessert from our favorite frozen yogurt place.  Today was a good day despite the disappointing news.  That little tidbit just opened another conversation between Momma B and I that needed to be let out, so for that I am thankful.

I am going...  I've been looking at airline tickets because I need to go up to Sacramento again on Monday.  I have another interview, this time with Kaiser.  As the job I've taken is a per diem position, and the one I'm going to interview for is also a per diem position, I figure between the two (if I get the Kaiser position also) I will ensure I should definitely get my full-time hours.  Plus, it will be good to have exposure to more than one hospital and how they work.
I am reading...  My reading recently has been limited to Sacramento's craigslist.  Good times.

I am hoping...  For so many things.  I am hoping I get pregnant this month.  I am hoping we find a nice place to rent and soon.  I am hoping I get the Kaiser position.  I am hoping we are able to repair my credit within a year's time so we can buy the home we are dreaming about.  I keep hoping.

I am hearing...  Plainclothes Man by Heatmiser

Around the house...  Dishes and laundry still need to be done.  Boo.

One of my favorite things...  I don't know how I've missed it all these years, but I've recently discovered How I Met Your Mother.  Such a cute, funny show.  I can't get enough of it lately.
A few plans for the rest of the week...  Only one: find a house that will take us and our dogs in a nice, safe neighborhood.

Here is picture for a thought I am sharing...

  1. I LOVE How I Met Your Mother!!!! It is truly one of my favorite shows. So, I wanted to share a secret with is on Lifetime ALL day long practically!!! You'll have to check your listings, but I know, for sure, that here (mountain time, so we're 1-hr ahead of you) from 5-6pm and 9-10pm. It's also on a different channel (don't remember which) around 8pm. AND you can watch it on demand (Lifetime channel!). Isn't it an awesome show!!!!

PS Sorry about the house, but here's to better things just around the corner. Good luck this cycle, mamas!!!

  2. What a bummer about the house, but that just means there's a better one out there for you guys! Good luck on your interview with Kaiser, such a beautiful hospital. We've had lots of friends and family have babies there. I really like that the IUI went smooth as butter and I enjoyed reading that you had a nice little relaxation session and a nap. I can't wait til we find our groove when we start! I have no idea what the morning\day\night looks like haha! I too hope this is the month for you ladies! ~ Jen

  3. Ugh, sorry about the house. But, it wasn't meant to be, right - I'm sure you'll find something great! So happy to hear the IUI went well! Fingers, toes, eyes...everything crossed for you :)

  4. How I met your mother is by far our favorite show! It is sooo funny and we love NPH and his antics. Good luck and fingers crossed for you!

  5. I so haven't had a chance to read the gayby blog lately, but glad to hear you're still trying to stay positive. Not sure why you're looking in Roseville...not the most welcoming place for LGBT folks (always interesting to visit my folks in Rocklin). If you'll be working there makes sense of course. Otherwise I recommend looking in Sacramento and would be happy to give recommendations on neighborhoods to check out. Good luck!

  6. Bummer that the Roseville house didn't work out! While Roseville is in more conservative Placer county we LOVE it here, we don't get sideways glances or mean comments. We aren't really into PDA's for any couple, gay/straight or otherwise though so it's never been a problem. Sacramento is great too, don't get me wrong, but we love our little suburb.

  7. Thanks everyone for the well wishes! So far, I just feel ... good. I don't know how else to explain it, so here's hoping it all works out!

As for housing, honestly, we're not that selective when it comes to the rental house - if it's decent, allows our dogs, and is in a safe neighborhood, we'll take it! LOL ... BUT for when we want to buy a home, we love Roseville. San Diego is as conservative as they get city-wise ... so I'm not really that worried. =)

  8. I started following! I hope you don't mind. Good luck this cycle :)
